Wedding Theme Revealed!

Getting married in October makes me think of AUTUMN.. yes! We are going to have an AUTUMN themed wedding!

I know you're probably thinking, "How will that be possible if you live in a tropical, SUPER hot country like the Philippines?"

Unleash your creative beast my dear! :)

So our original color palette was burnt orange, brown, yellow and red. (Traditional autumn colors)

Tell me, who will not FALL in love with these colors? :)

But since I LOOOOVE the color PINK (as you can see it's nowhere to be found on the photo above), I asked my fiance if we can incorporate at least a teeny tiny "pink" in our palette. He was a bit hesitant at first but finally gave in. (yey!) I've already spoken to our wedding coordinator about the changes. We will be having an "AUTUMN SUNSET WEDDING" theme!

Our new color palette is RED, CORAL and a touch of PINK.

The color pink poppin' everywhere!

So what do you think? Ü

Inspiration Board: Pre-nup Session

I took my internet browsing skills to the next level while looking for our e-session concept! :)

Here's our inspiration board:

Engagement Session 03.09.12

This is one thing on the checklist that every bride is excited about! Agree? :)
Most brides would spend hours on the internet to search for a concept. (I did)

We had a problem with the first photographer that we booked so this time, fiance and I made sure to get the best photographer in town, to properly execute the concept that we want for our e-session.  We just wanted our photo shoot to be light, fun and with lots of colors.

Here are some of the pictures: :)

Bridal Fair

I feel so lucky that I have a fiance who doesn't have any problem in attending bridal fairs with me. :)

We recently attended the bridal fair at SM Megamall last February 19, 2012.

We were able to book "Princess Weds Accessories" for our customized wedding accessories which includes beaded unity candles, acrylic cord, bible, arrhae case and pillows.

Here's their website: http://princessweds.weebly.com/

P.S. Sis Che is uber nice! :)

The WRONG TURN

Booking for suppliers is crucial in planning a wedding!

Okay, I skipped a lil bit. Let me share to you our experience in booking suppliers impulsively!

THE RECEPTION

After the Pamamanhikan (this was before the proposal - if you haven't read my previous posts), we decided to book Starmark Royale in Naga City for our reception/catering service. This was our first choice since we love the Grecian architecture and feel of the place. (Please see picture below)

Starmark Royale J.Miranda Ave., Naga City
We had no regrets or whatsoever. Ate Edna from Starmark was very accommodating and easy to do business with. Reception was booked. :)

PHOTO and VID

Another important wedding supplier is the photographer and videographer. We were still looking at that time when so timely, my fiance saw his wedding photographer friend from Naga (name and studio will not be mentioned). We were so happy that we immediately set an appointment with him the next day.

He offered us a very good discount for their "Ultimate Package" and because of  too much excitement, we gave him 10,000pesos as down payment right away!

Even though Fiance and I were both aware that he was not the best in Naga, we still felt confident that we got a good deal until this photographer acted unprofessionally by not answering our emails, text messages and calls.

We got irritated and decided to scout for another supplier to replace him ASAP!

Folks, I hope that our experience will serve as a lesson to all of you. Please do a LOOOOT of research before booking a supplier and paying for your down payment.

You might be wondering, "Asan na yung 10,000 pesos?"  (What happened to the 10,000pesos down payment)

Well, it's non - refundable. :(

My Beauty :)

Here's a picture of my simple yet elegant e-ring:

The Proposal 12.4.11

Given that we are already preparing for our wedding, I never expected that he'll still give me the sweetest proposal that I can ever imagine. (I wasn't expecting it anymore.)

Babe proposed to me infront of the passengers and crew members of cebu pacific flight 5j473 (Bacolod trip). What made it even more special was the fact that my parents were travelling with us to witness everything. :-)

Babe confessed that he bought the ring 2 or 3 months earlier but can't think of the best way to propose until it hit him, "why not propose on the plane?" :-)

Babe, you always make me feel special but this one.. this one just blew me away!

Here's the video.. :)

"Pamamanhikan"

Pamamanhikan is a Filipino tradition wherein the groom and his parents will visit the bride and his parents to ask for the bride's hand in order to marry her.  In my case, the Pamamanhikan happened last September 19, 2011. Let me share some of the pictures :)

12 years of friendship.5 years in love.

The year was 2000. Dirk (my fiance) and I became text mates (this was the time when the text phenomenon was starting to get into our system) but were both in a relationship at that time. We developed this unique friendship that even though we haven't met yet, there was this strong connection between us.

Fast forward to 2007, finally we decided to meet. The first meeting was not awkward at all. We shared a good laugh about random things.

There was NO attraction.

Few weeks passed and Dirk started to invite me to go out every weekend. "I enjoy your company", that's what he said.(or PALUSOT?) The weird thing was, I would usually say YES to him and decline my other suitors and even my friend's invitations.

In short, we finally became a couple.

Fast forward again..

2011 - We both decided to give it a shot and got engaged!

2012 - Excited to make these baby steps to explore life.. as ONE. ♥

Welcome

Hello Brides, Brides to-be, Single Ladies who happen to be infatuated with weddings like me.. WELCOME! :)

At first I wanted to make a blog just to simply write about my own wedding preparations but along the way, I got obsessed with weddings and decided to post a mixture of my own "love"story (which you can skip reading by the way if you're not interested lol), wedding planning, and different wedding inspirations that might also help in planning your own dream wedding.

..Just about anything from getting engaged, wedding preps, the wedding ceremony itself, post weddings.. I'll try to post it here! :)

This blog may also serve as a guide to my fellow Filipina brides out there!

Enjoy! :)
